Thursday, August 17th, at the 2023 NSBA World Championship saw another whirlwind of classes, from Western Pleasure to Hunter Under Saddle to Ranch Trail and Rail and traditional Trail.
In the first class of the day in the Ford Truck Arena, our March issue cover mare, Cool Like Thaat, and Bret Parrish came out with a gold trophy in the Color BCF 3 Year Old Open Western Pleasure. Owner Lisa Thomaier says this is Scarlett’s first big title, after she was third in the Open three’s, and it’s her second class at the show.
“There’s nobody like Bret Parrish, and this family, there’s none like it. I love them with my whole heart,” she explains. “This mare will never be sold, there’s no amount of money in the world for her. Right, BP?”
“If you say so,” laughs Bret. “She butters me up a lot. That’s what’s nice about our business, is that our clients are family. It’s not just business, and not just about winning, but the winning is pretty good!”
