Breeders’ Halter Futurity Announces Exciting New Classes For 2018

Here at the 2017 AQHA World Championship Show, the Breeders’ Halter Futurity Committee met to discuss future plans for the 2018 Breeders’ Halter Futurity that will be held September 12-16, 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Among many decisions made was the addition of several exciting new classes. First Weanling Geldings will be offered in both Amateur and Open Divisions. Also, a new addition will be DIY classes. These classes are designed for the competitor wants to “Do It Yourself.” In order to participate in these classes, the weanlings must not be under the guidance of a horse trainer.

There will be DIY classes for Amateur Weanling Colts/Geldings and Amateur Weanling Fillies. As an extra incentive, the foals that show in these DIY classes will also still be able to compete in any other classes in which they are eligible.
