2016 Arizona Fall Championship
October 6-9 West World, Scottsdale, Arizona
Phoenix-based Farnam is proud to be the show’s title sponsor. This is great news for exhibitors! Each back number will receive a gift bag from Farnam with an approximate retail value of over $50! Farnam will also be hosting a series of clinicians at the show. Watch for future announcements on the World caliber individuals who will be delivering a wealth of knowledge to exhibitors; all will be free to attend and everyone is welcome.
Exhibitors have loved the Championship format of the show, and this year’s show will offer the Championship round to all classes. The first time exhibitors show will be to two judges and the second time will be to four judges. The four-judge round will be a clean slate with the composite placings of the four judges tallied to name the Top 5. All awards presentations will be done in the arena.
First place will receive the slate/stone based Az. Fall Championship trophy. This beautiful trophy compliments any living room. Second place will also receive a slate-based trophy with a mounted horse head. Third through fifth place in each class will receive logo outer wear. Every exhibitor is eligible for the Championship round. There is no qualifying necessary.
Also, for the open and amateur exhibitors, the show will offer Best of Show awards for exhibitors in all-around classes and also Best of Show awards in Cattle, Reining, and Ranch Riding classes. Check the AzFallChampionship.com website for more details on these awards.
This year’s show has a host of new classes. In several classes, Level 1 Select Amateurs will be competing in their own classes. Five new classes of All Breed Reining have been added to serve the many Reiners of the show. Open, Amateur, Novice Amateur, Youth, and Novice Youth All Breed Reining classes will be offered at the show as well as a complete slate of AQHA classes. The All Breed Reining classes have an amazingly low entry fee of $32. This is a great opportunity for Reiners to school or show at a very reasonable price. These classes will all be offered in the climate controlled Farnam Arena (Equidome). This gives Reiners an opportunity to show each day of the show.
A NSBA Three and Four-Year-Old Trail Futurity with $250 added will also be offered in The Equine Chronicle Arena. VRH Trail and VRH Ranch Horse Conformation are exciting additions to this year’s show. Last year’s Ranch division had an outstanding turnout and management is expecting the same in 2016. A full set of Cattle classes is again being offered at the show including Cutting, Cow Horse and Roping. All of the new classes will offer the full set of Top 5 awards in the Championship round.
The USTPC will again be hosting a #13 Trail Challenge. Riders who competed in this event last year can attest to the fun that was had by all. With $1,000 guaranteed to the winning team, many will leave with some extra cash. A host of awards will also be given by the sponsors: Chas Roberts Heating and Air/Holly Hover Performance Horses. This team competition assigns each rider a number according to their points earned and accomplishments. Riders then team up with each other, careful not to go over the total ranking number of 13. Each team performs and then their total score is tallied to determine the placings. The Trail Challenge will be held Saturday Oct. 8th after the AQHA Trail classes in the Equine Chronicle arena.
An outstanding group of judges have been selected for the show. Officials at this years event will be Tonya Green, Charlene Carter, Rick Meredith, Steve Stephens, Lisa Ligon, Dawn Clason, Rebecca Halvorson, Cliff Kellmer, Allen Mitchels, Doug Ingersoll, Deborah Jones Wright, Marilyn Randall, Allen Walton and Courtney Fuller.
