Beth Case was in the saddle of another Hunter Under Saddle Congress Champion today. This time, she was in the irons of the homegrown, Hubbout A Dance, for the Porter family. “Henry” is a special horse, because he’s the first English-specific bred by their stallion, Hubba Hubba Huntin.

martz_580x502-sm“He’s homegrown and was born and raised at our place,” Alicia Porter says. “He’s our first English-bred horse. All our others are from Western-bred mares. He’s by our stallion, Hubba Hubba Huntin, and out of These Irons Are Dancing. I think every horse that mare has bred has won the Congress or World Show. We definitely wanted something that was as good-minded as Hubba. We are definitely lucky to have such a great horse.”

Earlier in the show, Henry and Alicia won the 3-Year-Old Non Pro Limited Hunter Under Saddle, were Reserve in the 3-Year-Old Non Pro Open Hunter Under Saddle, and Reserve in the Amateur Hunter Under Saddle. Henry was also the Reserve Champion in Junior Hunter Under Saddle. Now, it’s on to the World Show where Alicia will compete with Henry in L2 and L3 Amateur Hunter Under Saddle and Beth will show in Junior. “Beth has done an amazing job with him. She works so hard.”

Porter3Despite the frigid temperatures and snowfall today at the Congress, Henry is still his happy, lovable self. “Personality wise, he loves to be around people, and he’s always happy. He loves doing his job. He’s so easygoing. He gets turned out every day and has a Jolly Ball that he runs around and plays with.”

The Reserve Champion was Courtney Brockmueller with Good Better Best. Third was Dawn Baker with Mito Been Me. Fourth was Katy Jo Zuidema with Al Wayz On Your Mind. Fifth was Heidi Piper with Al Be Jamun.
