Select Showmanship
The finals of the Adequan National Championship Select Showmanship at the Arizona Sun Circuit were held on Tuesday evening just as the Johns Family NSBA party was getting started ringside at The Equine Chronicle Arena. After three days of Showmanship elimination rounds and a lot of great pattern work, four finalists remained. Scott Reinartz with Investin a Goodbar, Sharon Forbes-Hanks with Hot Lil Assets, Joe Whitt with Suddenlee Single, and Anne Wilson with Give Me the Goods were back center arena for the head to head competition.
Each of the finalists had come into Sun Circuit in the top 10 of the National Championship year-end rankings. Ranked second nationally, Scott Reinartz was paired with the eighth ranked Sharon Forbes-Hanks for the first match up. Scott presented an exceptional pattern and received a cumulative score of 284. Sharon posted a 269, sending Scott to the finals. Joe Whitt, who came into the competition ranked sixth, exhibited against the third ranked Anne Wilson. Both had pretty and crisp patterns, but Joe edged out Anne and advanced. Exhibitors had a quick break and then presented the same pattern once again. Awaiting the scores, both men knew it was very close and congratulated each other. Scott’s score of 283 edged out Joe’s score of 281.5.

The Four finalists received embroidered leather bomber jackets and Scott Reinartz received the gorgeous National Champion trophy buckle.
Amateur Showmanship
Tony Anderman and Solo Invested have had an exceptionally good year. They arrived at Sun Circuit in the top position on the National Championship Amateur Showmanship rankings list. On Tuesday evening, Tony was one of four finalists reviewing the pattern at the center of The Equine Chronicle arena. Tony was joined by Angela Fox with HP The Rusty Fox, Andrea Foss with Imma American Made, and Megan Seehafer with All That I Got.
In the first run off, Tony had a cumulative score of 275.5, while Megan Seehafer posted a 266. In the second run off, Angela Fox scored a 283, while Andrea Foss had a 271.5. The final pairing saw Angela and Tony present head to head. Both of them had been in the four last year and knew the drill well. Angela posted a score of 287.5 with her final run, but Tony was on a roll and scored a 290.5 claiming the championship.
Tony had an exceptionally busy and successful day. He also placed first in the NSBA Rider’s Cup Showmanship. He added the National Championship buckle to his trove of awards, and all of the final four won embroidered leather bomber jackets.
