We are saddened to share the news of a devastating barn fire that has stricken AQHA Professional Horseman, Chele McGauly. Friend and fellow horse industry professional, Sally Blackwell, has created a GoFundMe page where people can donate to assist with recovery and rebuild efforts.
“Many in the horse industry know AQHA Professional Horseman and judge, Chele McGauly, as an outstanding exhibitor, judge, and person. In the early morning hours of February 21, Chele awoke to find her hay and overflow stall barn on fire. Although she was successful in freeing some of the animals, seven horses perished in the fire. In addition, Chele lost all 800 bales of hay, her supply of shavings, and some equipment stored in the barn. The structure is a total loss.”
“Chele is devastated by the loss of the horses and could certainly use our help to rebuild. She is a generous and kind member of the horse community, frequently giving her time to help others, and now is an opportunity to show her some love in return. I know our horse show family is ready and willing to help Chele in this tragedy because of the overwhelming number of people that have called asking, ‘What can I do to help?’ Please help us help her to rebuild and heal. Thank you.
Thus far, $35,965 of the $50,000 goal has been raised.
