The OQHA Sweetheart Classic, which took place February 9-12, 2023 in Oregon Horse Center, Eugene, Oregon, was another hit for the multi-breed show format the association has been cultivating.  In fact, the shows go out of their way to make everyone feel appreciated! This year, the shows also have been welcoming Appaloosas to their format, and the show was approved by the following:

  • American Quarter Horse Association
  • American Paint Horse Association
  • Oregon Quarter Horse Association
  • Northwest Coordinating Committee
  • Oregon Paint Horse Club
  • Oregon Appaloosa Horse Club

Plus of course, all-breed classes, and celebrations of beginner riders.   Judges were as follows:

Jarod Wright, the MVP for OQHA 2022

At the Sweetheart Classic, OQHA hosted a Valentine’s Day buckle drive to get their buckles sponsored, and the great news was that they reached their Valentine’s Day Buckle Drive goal!  Sponsors were entered into a drawing, and  Joyce Sorenson / Western Rebar had the winning ticket for the Valentine’s Day Wine and Truffles Gift ~ Congratulations!

On a side note, OQHA also just wrapped up their yearend awards banquet with congratulations to all. Two special highlights:

Oregon Quarter Horse Association wishes to extend a huge CONGRATULATIONS to JAROD WRIGHT, the “MVP”, Most Valuable Professional Horseman 2022 for OQHA!!!!
