Around the Rings Photos and Results – 2022 NSBA World Championship Show – 8-19-22

Friday, the first class of the day in the Mustang Arena was NSBA Novice Amateur Horsemanship, and Keely Seiter and her horse, Colonel, JK Docs Bugin Rocket, earned the World Championship title.

Keely says she had done this same pattern in the Cinch Horsemanship prelims, so she was familiar with it, but she had new plans.  “I wanted to go in there and crisp somethings up, and we did that.  Our goal was to keep a nice forward pace going through it all, and really show off his movement,” she says.  Keely says Colonel has the most personality of any horse she’s ever met. “Anytime I go to his stall, he puts his head on my shoulder and gives me a big hug; he has so much try in him, which is my favorite thing.”

Over in the Ford Truck Arena, Tami Thurston was in the irons with Im Willy Fabulous, collecting their World Championship hardware for the NSBA BCF 2 Year Old Open Hunter Under Saddle for owner Sandra Morgan.

Tami says, “He really lives up to his name, Im Willy Fabulous, because he is. I’m teary-eyed because it’s great to win, but when a horse goes in there and gives you his heart like that, I’m very proud of him.  For two-year-olds to go through all this, it’s asking so much of him, and every run he’s better.  I’ve ridden a lot of nice horses, but I’m telling you this is the real deal right here.”

Sandra Morgan and Stephen Stephens will be coming up with a plan for the young stallion, including standing him, and they explain he’s won every class he has been entered in at this show, and the other two were the NSBA 2 Year Old Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle with Sandra, and the NSBA 2 Year Old Open Hunter Under Saddle with Tami.

“I’m very blessed and honored to pilot this guy, and I have to say my husband, Paul, has worked very hard with this horse.  He loves him too, and puts his heart and soul into him, and I’m so appreciative,” Tami reveals.

A little later back in the Mustang Arena, If Im Honest showed his versatility by winning the NSBA Green Senior Western Riding Limited Rider with Chris Jones right after he had won the World Championship in the NSBA BCF 4-6 Year Old Limited Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle with her with his owner Evie Doles.  Watch what Evie has to say about “Moose” here in our EC TV video:
