On Monday, October 16, 2023, at the All American Quarter Horse Congress, the youth were busy in some of their final classes of the show.
In the L3 Youth 14-18 Trail, Jordan Macan grabbed the Champion and Reserve spots, and the achievement of not one, but two, titles resulted in a tide of emotion for her due to all her hard work. Watch her EC TV video:

Lilly Jones had yet another win with Chilln Ona Dirt Road in the Youth 11 & Under Trail, and she says having such a great show feels really awesome. She’s done showing now, but her favorite classes have been the Equitation, Horsemanship, and Trail.
She says her horse is a really good boy, and he loves the Trail, and she loves him a lot! She wants to thank Geno Spagnola and Jasper Ganzel for their coaching. “Thank you to both of them for helping me, I couldn’t have done anything without them,” she explains. Lilly also says her mom gets her horse ready each day and she is particularly thankful for both of them.

Later that day, Logan Starnes and Strike 3 won their Youth Western Pleasure 12-14 much to the delight of his barn and his parents – it was a big a class of 40.
“Simon” is owned and bred by his parents, Jay & Kristy Starnes, and he’s by Batt Man an out of A Certain Illusion.
Logan says he likes Simon because he’s fun and has a lot of personality, and he likes food. “We have to keep a jolly ball in his stall at all the shows because he ate a hole in the wall at one of the shows,” he explains. We asked Logan what showing a three-year-old is like and he admits, “Chaotic, because he doesn’t move laterally very well, so it gets kind of tight out there sometimes,” and today, he says, that happened multiple times. How he handled it, he explains, is “he tried not to die.”
