In a much-anticipated 3 Year Old $2500 Novice Horse Open Western Pleasure Stakes, Andy Cochran and Tik Tock, owned by Scott Frye, took the Congress Championship, earning $6513.80.
Scott, who owned and showed Tik Tock’s sire, The Rock, explains that Andy was working for Capital Quarter Horses and this yearling came up, and he sold him to Scott.
“He’s out of Whatscookngoodlookin, and I bought him and trained him through the NSBA World, and then we were fourth there, and had a good show.” He adds that he and Andy have been the best of friends forever, and he needed an open rider for “Geronimo,” so he sent him home with Andy after the NSBA World Show.
The next stop for Tik Tock and Cochran Show Horses is the AQHA World Show, and Scott says all of this began with Waymond Roberts and his wife, Susie, great friends of his who bred The Rock (by celebrated sire RL Best of Sudden and out of Lopen Good Bar). “Waymond has passed away since, but he started all of this and I want to recognize him.”
