Around the Rings – 2025 ILQHA “Gordyville” Lucky Run

The Illinois Quarter Horse Association just wrapped up the ILQHA Lucky Run, also fondly known as the “Gordyville Lucky Run,” which ran March 13-16, 2025, at Gordyville USA in Gifford, IL.
The AQHA, NSBA, ILQHA approved show offered four AQHA shows and two NSBA shows with Thursday/Friday judges Brent Maxwell and Kendra Weis, and with Saturday and Sunday Judges Jeff Mellott and Stacey Roberson.

ILQHA exhibitors and staff proved their ilk at this show, if anyone wasn’t sure of their tenacity and spirit, when a severe storm passed through, marking a show they will remember for years to come.

“At approximately 12:52 a.m. Gordyville USA was hit by the severe storm that passed through our area. We are so very blessed that no individuals or animals were injured. Yes, many trailers and campers were overturned, EMS has asked that if you have damage please do not move anything until the weather officials can review in the daylight. A special thank you to the Gifford Fire, Emergency and Police for their assistance.”
Though some of their property was damaged in the storm, like the typical example of horsemen everywhere, they picked themselves up by their bootstraps, dusted themselves off, and started their horse show a little later that day. ILQHA was full of thanks and praise to the facility, responders, staff, sponsors, judges, ring stewards, volunteers, and the official show photographer.
