Around the Rings – 2023 AQHYA World Show – July 30th
In the first class of the day in the Jim Norick Arena at the 2023 AQHYA World Championship Show, the course was set for the finals of the L3 Youth 14-18 Showmanship. As the numbers and names were called by the announcer one by one, Kayla Virga began to realize she was in the top three, and finally, she realized she and Exclusively Mocca won the class!

Also on Sunday, July 30th, Ainsley Pick and VS Code Theodore ended their day by winning the L2 Youth 13 & Under Hunt Seat Equitation at the 2023 AQHYA World Championship Show!
Earlier on Sunday, they grabbed a Gold Globe in L1 Youth 13 & Under Hunter Under Saddle, and won a silver Reserve title in the L1 13 & Under Youth Hunt Seat Equitation. They had quite a day!

The same day, Kaylee Olds had an emotional win in the L1 Youth Hunt Seat Equitation 13 & Under on the same day with Playin It Cool. She says they came last year and she was Reserve in the L1 Hunter Under Saddle but this year, she says she couldn’t have asked for anything better from Playin It Cool. What did she do to improve this year?
“My heels were a lot better for my two-point, which I’ve been working on a lot,” she explains, which she accomplished by going to her trainer’s house (Jamie Watson) approximately four times a week. Her strategy on the rail was simple. “On the rail, I tried working on getting my butt underneath me when I was posting, and having more forward momentum. When I went in there I just focused on not getting into any bad spots.” Congratulations to Kaylee!
