FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

From AzQHA

AQHA and APHA horses from around the country will be converging in Scottsdale, AZ this September with two block buster shows from the 20th through the 24th at West World. Arizona Quarter Horse Association’s popular and diverse AZ Fall Championship has something for every exhibitor at every level with classes sanctioned by AQHA, NSBA and NRCHA with loads of great awards and prize money.

This year AzFC Welcomes the 2023 APHA Western National Championship to Scottsdale as a simultaneous, stand-alone event taking place in adjoining arenas. The APHA Western National Championship will feature classes across APHA age divisions. Paint owners also have the opportunity to enter a number of AzQHA Fall Championship classes that are  sanctioned by other organizations, including some futurity, sweepstakes and derby events.

The AZ Fall Championship makes full use of West World’s climate controlled arenas and covered pens with most classes held indoors.

It is known for its exhibitor-centric blend of extensive classes, thoughtful schedule, fun atmosphere and great prizes. With new classes added to the line up including roping, more Walk/Trot and the relatively new AQHA Working Western Rail, the 2023 show is shaping up to deliver even more hot competition, cool cash awards and awesome prizes. Exhibitors can show as much as they want with the $475 All-Show fee or use the Pay Per Entry option.

As Ranch classes continue to explode across the nation, AzFC offers some hefty incentives to travel to Scottsdale. New this year is the $10,000 added Bar-54 Three Year Old Ranch Horse Sweepstakes. Combining Working Western Rail and Ranch Riding, the Sweepstakes is open to all breeds and encourages Paint horses to join in the fun. There are payouts for the individual classes plus the over all champion placings. Opportunities for older Ranch horses include the $5,000 Added Markel Insurance 4 & 5 year old Ranch Riding Derby that is also open to all breeds. Another ranch award is the $5,000 Added Farnam L1 Open Ranch Stakes in which horses must be L1 eligible in AQHA Ranch Riding to compete. A fun addition to the Ranch awards is back after being wildly popular last year. The Sami Fine Jewelry $1,000 Added Ranch Riding Team Challenge randomly draws teams of either one Open Sr. Ranch Riding exhibitor and one L1 Amateur Ranch Riding or L1 Youth Ranch Riding exhibitor or two Amateur or Select Ranch Riding Exhibitors Their combined score determines the winners and gifts from Sami will be awarded in the arena in addition to cash.

Many of the best up and coming Cow Horses in the country come to Scottsdale in the fall to corral a slice of the $10,000 added Rogers Heaven Sent Ranch Futurity for 3 year olds. The NRCHA classes are  sponsored by AzRCHA and their generous supporters.

In addition to cash, awesome awards celebrate the achievements of high point winners who show in multiple disciplines. High Point Champions in L1 Non Pro and Non Pro will each receive a certificate from Bob’s Custom Saddles. The awards will tally points from Showmanship, Horsemanship, Pleasure and Halter. Open, Amateur, Select, L1 Amateur and Youth Best of Show Champions in the All Around division and Reining, Ranch and Cattle division will receive Rod Patrick Boots and a Cinch Jean and Shirt Certificate. Reserve Champions will receive Professionals Choice gift certificate for the Bob Avila Collection.

Youth Ranch High Point Awards  are sponsored again this year by Kimes Ranch. Champions will receive a Headstall and Reserve Champions take home a Leather Halter. The awards will be given in 11 and Under Ranch High Point (Walk-Trot), 13 and Under Ranch High Point as well as a 18 and Under Ranch High Point.

Exhibitors love the option of taking home a AZ Fall Championship Circuit Award trophy that is uniquely styled for each discipline or receiving an Equine Oasis gift certificate. The champion awards will be presented to the over all Grand Champion Halter Horse in each division, Performance Halter horses and in all performance classes that show to six judges. NSBA Futurity class champions will also receive trophies. Reserve circuit champions will receive logo’d outerwear and Vendor Buck are awarded for each judge’s placing first through sixth.

AzQHA is legendary for taking fun to the next level as part of their overall commitment to ensuring exhibitors are enjoying their experience in Arizona. Prize Patrol will be roaming the grounds with an array of games and wacky challenges. Gift certificates, products, feed, clothing, hats, boots, electronics and more  will be handed out to the winners….and sometimes the losers. The impetus of Prize Patrol is that anyone can win something big without placing first in the arena. The games also get non-showing family members involved in the fun and excitement of the show.

Known as “The Show For Everyone,” The AZ Fall Championship offers a warm and welcoming environment, best in class service and a fun championship style show. The full class schedule and awards criteria can be found at azfallchampionship.com. Details and schedules for the APHA Western National Championship can be found at apha.com/western-national-show. Both shows will use EzHorseshows.com for stall reservations.
