The audit option is open to all American Quarter Horse Youth Association members and will provide placing cards for youth to submit, and tabulation of placings at the conclusion of the contest. There are no awards or reasons judging offered with the youth audit option. AQHYA members can register by October 29 at no cost online here.

New Judging Contest Clinic

New for 2021, AQHA will host an educational clinic on Saturday, November 6, for all judging contestants. Attend this free educational session allowing contestants and coaches to receive information and insights from an AQHA-approved judge. The clinic will focus on a select group of popular AQHA events that contestants may see during the contest. Attendees will be able to ask questions related to the specific classes covered.

Intercollegiate Reining Horse Judging Contest

This year, the National Horse Judging Team Coaches Association will host an Intercollegiate Reining Horse Judging Contest on November 1, in cooperation with AQHA and the National Reining Horse Association. The contest will allow participants to judge live reining horse runs during the Farnam AQHA World. Having both judging contests at the show will allow collegiate teams to make the most of their time at the Farnam AQHA World.  Please submit entries for the Reining contest to John Pipkin  at jpipkin@wtamu.edu.

For more information about these horse judging contests, contact youth@aqha.org.

About the AQHA World Championship Show Collegiate Horse Judging Contest

Participants evaluate a variety of four-horse halter and performance classes from classes that are either staged for the contest or are actual Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World entries being judged concurrently for the show and the horse judging contest. Contestants then give six sets of oral reasons depicting their placings. At the contests, professional judges determine an official placing for each contest class. Participants’ scores are calculated based on how close their placings are to the officials’ placings. Each class and set of oral reasons explaining that placing is worth 50 points. The competitor who drops the fewest points wins the contest, and the team who collectively drops the fewest points wins high overall team.
