AQHA Seeking Director of International Activities to Take the Reins

As the largest equine breed registry in the world, the American Quarter Horse Association does business in more than 130 countries, serving roughly 31,000 members and 440,000 registered American Quarter Horses. The director of international activities will be responsible for serving this important sector, which equates to nearly 15% of the Association’s business.
The AQHA director of international activities will oversee the formulation of policies and procedures to provide an overall direction of AQHA’s international activities and functions. This role also serves as a liaison between AQHA and the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) concerning the cooperator contract between AQHA and FAS. Additionally, this role is crucial in maintaining and evolving AQHA’s leading international market position by continuously examining, locating and developing international business relationships.
Other key parts of this role include managing a passionate team that serves international affiliates and members, serving as a member of AQHA’s senior leadership team, regularly engaging with the AQHA Executive Committee, supporting a 60+ person international committee and traveling internationally.
