AQHA Region Two exhibitors are preparing for the 2015 Merial AQHA Region Two Championship Show, which is approaching quickly. The show, slated for September 17-20 in Rapid City, South Dakota, provides American Quarter Horse enthusiasts a chance to test their horse-showing skills.
This regional championship features four days packed with a variety of classes, starting with junior reining at 7:30 a.m. on September 17 in the Event Center Arena. AQHA judges Mario Boisjoli, Abby Cosenza, Steve Meadows, Lindsey Martin and Gay Lynn Owens will judge the event.
“Our goal with the regional championships is to offer our members another opportunity to gain experience in the show ring with their American Quarter Horses,” said Charlie Hemphill, AQHA director of shows and new events. “This also gives our members a chance to network and ride with other talented riders across their regions.”
Additionally, placing in the top 10 as a Level 1 exhibitor in a regional championship Level 1 class qualifies the rider and horse for the 2016 AQHA Level 1 championships. The exception to this is halter, where Level 1-eligible halter exhibitors may compete in corresponding youth and amateur classes in the regional championship classes to qualify for the Level 1 championships. More details on qualifying for the 2016 AQHA Level 1 championships will be available soon.

Exhibitors from every region are invited to attend a regional championship show, but an exhibitor may only compete at one regional championship per year. Visit www.aqha.com/regionalchampionships for more information on each show.
