AQHA Region 2 Championship Coming to South Dakota Sept. 15-18

AQHA Region 2 exhibitors are preparing for the 2016 Merial AQHA Region Two Championships, which is approaching quickly. The show, slated for September 15-18 in Rapid City, South Dakota, provides American Quarter Horse enthusiasts a chance to test their horse-showing skills.

This regional championships features four days packed with a variety of classes, starting with junior reining at 7:30 a.m. on September 15 in the Event Center Arena. AQHA judges Leo Fourre, Gary Reynolds, Chris Jeter and Sandy Jirkovsky will judge the event. For a full show itinerary, visit www.aqharegion2.com.

“These shows are the best way for exhibitors to get their feet wet in AQHA championship shows,” said Charlie Hemphill, AQHA director of shows and new events. “The shows also give Level 1 exhibitors the opportunity to qualify for the AQHA Level 1 Championships in 2017.”

Level 1-eligible exhibitors who place in the top 10 in any amateur/Select/youth regional championships class will earn an invitation on that horse to compete at the 2017 AQHA Level 1 Championships. Visit www.aqha.com/level1championships for more details.

Regions 9, 8, 5 and 6 held 2016 Merial AQHA Regional Championships. Region 1 offered different awards than the other regional championships, however Level 1 exhibitors placing in the top 10 at the Region One Championships qualified for the 2017 AQHA Level 1 Championships. Exhibitors from every region are invited to attend a regional championships, but an exhibitor may only compete at one regional championships per year.
