Day 1: The AQHA Level 1 Championships are underway today and two champions have already been crowned in the Working Hunter divisions. The rest of the day will be filled with Equitation Over Fences, Hunter Hack, Equitation and Hunter Under Saddle for our youth, level 1 and level 1 select competitors. It might be hot outside, but the facility is perfect and everyone is enjoying the first full day of competition.
Day 2: of the level 1 West Championship show is off to a beautiful start as exhibitors present their horses in the Halter classes today. Lots of people will be getting their exercise while running in deep dirt while attempting to make square corners look effortless in the Showmanship classes also slated for today. Preparations for the Trail events that will begin tomorrow will take place this afternoon. Everyone is very grateful for the air-conditioned arenas and great food readily available here at South Point!
Day 3: As the Level 1 championships in Las Vegas wrap up tomorrow, we exhibitors would like to thank all the office staff, ring stewards, judges, Pete and Tamra Kyle, and all the other “behind the scenes” people who have made these last few days so rewarding in so many ways. Trailers are headed home with ribbons, medallions, and trophies and competitors are leaving with goals met or new goals set. The sportsmanship and comraderie among contestants and trainers alike made this show even more memorable. Thank you to South Point hotel for your hospitality, great restaurants and all the extra vacuuming required to clean up the shavings we track into the hallway and beyond! Safe travels and happy trails!
