AQHA Level 1 Championship Underway in Oklahoma

Exhibitors at the AQHA Central Level 1 Championships saddled up their American Quarter Horses on April 10 for the opening day of competition at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The show kicked off at 10 a.m. with B&W Trailer Hitches Rookie youth ranch riding in the Jim Norick Arena and Level 1 youth working hunter in the Performance Arena.
The AQHA Central, running April 10-14, features Rookie classes, sponsored by B&W Trailer Hitches, and Level 1 classes; these two levels of AQHA competition are designed for everyone from the beginner to the minimally accomplished competitors, respectively.
AQHA walk-trot classes are also making their debut at the 2018 Level 1 Championships this spring. Walk-trot classes are the perfect way for eligible exhibitors to get in the arena and gain experience, which goes hand-in-hand with the purpose of the Level 1 Championships.
The show offers a variety of events and activities for competitors, friends, family and spectators to take part in throughout the show, including free Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen/Horsewomen and an educational seminar on nutrition and horsemanship skills.

The AQHA Central, AQHA West and Nutrena East Level 1 Championships are the pinnacle events for Level 1 and Rookie competitors around the world. Level 1 cattle events and rookie and level 1 ranch riding will be offered at the AQHA Level 1 Cattle Championships during the 2018 Zoetis Versatility Ranch Horse World Championships in June at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
