AQHA International Leveling Has Been Postponed

Each year, AQHA members gather for the AQHA convention to discuss AQHA rules and policies, and review member-submitted rule-change proposals.

At the 2018 AQHA Convention, the show format and procedures subcommittee approved to amend SHW245.1 to add leveling for international shows, including Canada, to be calculated at 1/3 of the points utilized for each class and levels as domestic shows.

The 2018 Executive Committee approved the amendment to the rule based on the projected implementation of the new computer system, which at the time was scheduled to launch this year.

Based on the current projection of the new computer system launch, the Association does not anticipate implementation of this rule for this upcoming year. The rule is approved, but implementation is pending computer programming.

“We know leveling for our international exhibitors is very important, and we want to assure you it is a priority for our team to level the playing field internationally and provide more opportunities for people to participate in AQHA events,” said Anna Morrison, AQHA chief international officer.

AQHA wants to hear any suggestions you have to make the membership, programs and services reach their fullest potential. AQHA members have until December 31, 2018, to submit items for the 2019 convention. Learn more about submitting an AQHA rule change.
