The American Quarter Horse Foundation and AQHA Ranching program are teaming up to offer an innovative scholarship program, the Ranching Heritage Breeder Internship Fund. This scholarship program was designed to keep future generations interested in agriculture and provide resources to help them succeed by working in a variety of atmospheres. The Ranching Heritage Breeder Internship Fund is open to all college juniors and seniors studying in fields related to horses and/or beef cattle.

The internship program features three work experiences. The student’s primary internship is with a Zoetis AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder. Students then spend time at both AQHA and a state cattle association. After completing the paid internship, students will also receive a scholarship paid directly to their school.

This program helps students gain business experience in the agriculture industry by working side-by-side with professionals.

“The American Quarter Horse Foundation is so pleased to partner with AQHA and the Ranching Heritage Breeders to support the future leaders of our ranching industry,” said Anna Morrison, chief Foundation officer. “Supporting this internship fund is an investment in the youth who will make sure our industry is well stewarded for generations to come.”
