MOSCOW, Idaho – The Appaloosa Horse Club Board of Directors met on Wednesday to discuss a variety of issues related to ongoing operations and the effect COVID-19 is having on the National Show and regional shows. The Board has continued the meeting to next Wednesday, May 20. By that time, the Governor of Texas will have made updated decisions on entering the next phase of re-opening in the State which will allow us to make a final decision concerning the National Show. At that time, we’ll issue an immediate press release to members who are anxiously awaiting this decision. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this important decision weighing all factors and information available.

NEW CLASSES:
See premium book for eligibility and entry requirements.
HORSE PAPERS: Please email a copy of your horse’s registration papers along with a copy of the current health and negative Coggins reports to nationalshow@appaloosa.com to expedite unloading horses at the show. These should be emailed by June 17th.
POST ENTRIES & RIDER/HORSE CHANGES: Post entries, rider changes (in open classes), horse changes (in non-pro and youth classes) and class conflict submissions will now be done online. Watch the ApHC website for instructions and forms. All changes made after the pre-entry deadline must be done online.
REGIONAL CLUB MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT WAIVED: Due to the cancellation of so many regional shows, ApHC has waived the requirement for youth competitors to be a member of an ApHC regional club in order to show at the Youth World Show in 2020.
ApHC & NSBA MEMBERSHIPS: Be sure to purchase ApHC membership and NSBA membership (if entering dual-approved classes) prior to processing your online entries. You will need current membership numbers to complete entries.
PROOF OF ACCOMMODATIONS: You must complete the proof of accommodations form and submit it at the time entries are made. If using the online system, you’ll be prompted to complete the form before submitting entries. If sending in hard-copy entries, please include a completed form with your entries. You cannot pick up your back numbers without meeting this requirement.
NO FEE CHANGES were made this year. Additionally, we have reduced post entry fees to $25/class for Youth; $50/class for Non-Pro; $60/class for Open.
AWARDS BANQUETS CANCELLED
Due to COVID-19, we have unfortunately canceled both 2019 year-end award banquets. The 2019 banquet to recognize Hall of Fame inductees and open, non-pro, trail and race year-end and lifetime award winners is tentatively scheduled to be held October 29 during the 2020 World Show. Alternate plans to recognize our youth year-end and lifetime award winners are currently underway and additional information will be released soon.
All year-end awards that have not previously been sent will be mailed to award recipients as soon as they are received in the ApHC office. Most are currently in production.
