ApHC Announces Candidates For 2013 Board of Directors Election

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) is pleased to announce the candidates for the 2013 ApHC Board of Directors election in all Zone C positions, and in special elections for Territory II-Zone B, Territory IV-Zone A, and Territory V-Zone A:

Regular Elections:

Territory I, Zone C:

• Gene Carr, Hayti, SD

• Lori Richards*, Parker, SD

Territory II, Zone C:

• Sandra Matthews*, Colorado Springs, CO

• Valerie Showalter, Leon, KS

Territory III, Zone C:

• Dave Crowell, Avon, IL

• Diane Rushing*, Decatur, IL

Territory IV, Zone C:

• Jack Zuidema*, Alachua, FL

Territory V, Zone C:

• Debora Anne Dyer, Blacksburg, VA

Territory VI, Zone C:

• Chuck McWhirter*, Newton, NJ

Special Elections:

Territory II, Zone B:

• Donna Goodison, Chandler, AZ

• Mary Ann Page, Phoenix, AZ

Territory IV, Zone A:

• Dena Raggio, Pilot Point, TX

Territory V, Zone A:

• Brian Irvin, Fall Branch, TN

Eligible members in Territories I, II, and III will vote for Board of Directors candidates. Voters in these territories will vote for candidates in their respective territory, regardless of zone. Voters in Territory II will vote for candidates in both Zone B and Zone C. Voters residing in Territories IV, V, and VI will not vote, as unopposed candidates are elected automatically.

The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) was established in 1938 with a mission of preserving, promoting and enhancing the Appaloosa breed. The ApHC has since registered more that 670,000 Appaloosas, which are known for their distinctive color, intelligence and even temperament. True to their reputation as an extremely versatile breed, Appaloosas can be found in nearly every discipline including racing, endurance riding and serving as a reliable family horse. The international breed registry is headquartered in Moscow, Idaho, the heart of the Palouse region – the Appaloosa breed’s namesake and point of origin.
