PHJ press release by: Alannah Castro
The clock is counting down to the 2015 APHA World Championship Show, and deadlines are fast approaching.
World Show Pre-Entries, Stall reservations and RV reservations
Pre-entries must be received by September 15 to be eligible for the most economical rates. Most entries can be submitted online at apha.com/oawcs; remember, however, that Farnam Stakes, Breeders’ Futurity, ranch sorting, speed-event rollover options and Southern Belle Breeders’ classes must be submitted by email, fax or mail to APHA. Post-entries will be accepted until 5 p.m. the day before the class takes place. Entry fees increase beginning September 16, and a full list of pre- and post-entry fees can be found at apha.com/oawcs. Stall reservations and RV reservations will be assessed a late fee beginning September 16.
Farnam Breeders’ Trust Select Sale
The Farnam Breeders’ Trust Select Sale consignment deadline is also September 15. This premier sale includes both a Regular Session for horses of any age that are subscribed or nominated to the Breeders’ Trust and for mares bred to Breeders’ Trust-subscribed stallions, as well as a Yearling Stakes Session, exclusively for Breeders’ Trust-nominated prospects who will become eligible to compete for more than $50,000 in future Farnam Pleasure Stakes classes. For more information on consigning a horse, head over to apha.com/oawcs/sale.
Two horses will also be auctioned off during the sale to benefit the American Paint Horse Foundation. Longtime APHA breeder Floyd Moore of Huntsville, Texas, has generously donated two yearling tobiano cutting-bred colts: Smart Badger and Cutters Flying Baby; proceeds from their sales will go towards Youth scholarships and other foundation initiatives.
