This morning, competitors received big checks, fabulous prizes, and bragging rights in APHA World Show, WCHA, and Breeders’ Futurity Halter classes.

Bob Cassata was at the lead of She’s Stylish to win BF Gold Junior Weanling Mares. The Reserve Champion was Erin Henderson with Addictdtothewhitestuf. Third was Linda Pigg with Cover Girl Scores. Fourth was Heather Berry with Bringing Classy Back. Fifth was Ramsey Berry with Decisively Smokin Hot.

Robin Robinett repeated her win from yesterday, this time with TNR Delish in BF Bronze Senior Weanling Mares.

In the WCHA Senior Weanling Fillies, Suzonne Franks led TNR Leading Lady to win the open division of the class as well as the non-pro division and the highest placing Owner/Breeder/Exhibitor designation. The Reserve Champion in the open division was Luke Castle with I Got More Secrets. Third was Shelley Grissom with Too Cool To Flirt. Fourth was Robin Robinett with TNR Delish. Fifth was Anita Weiscamp with Enticement.

The highest placing Paint Horse in the class was TNR Delish, led by Robin Robinett. The highest placing buckskin was Keep Your Socks On, led by Barbara Hoffer. The highest placing ApHC horse was Teelicious, led by Tyler Ferrell.

Just yesterday, Suzonne led “Kaylee” to win the Big Money Halter Futurity Weanling Fillies class and a check for $5,767. Today, she scored $6,633. “I’ve got some shopping money now!” Suzonne laughs. This particular filly is near and dear to Suzonne’s heart because she is homegrown by her stallion, Kid Coolsified, who she thought was very well-represented in this class. “He always puts a pretty head and neck on his babies, but the sun, the moon, and all the stars aligned for this one!”

“That was a very tough class today, and there were a lot of good horses with tough exhibitors. You can’t stub your toe with this group of people. I’m very blessed to have Jarrell [Jackson] and Alicia for getting these horses ready. They’re broke, and there are no surprises. It’s the program that they put into place at our ranch that allows me to do what I love to do.”

Chris Arentsen

Chris Arentsen

Chris Arentsen was at the lead of Dialed In for owner, Cheryl Vasi, in WCHA Junior Weanling Colts. The Reserve Champion was Monte Horn with Fortunate. Third was Kevin Williams with Unnamed. Fourth was Kim Anding with On EZ Street. Fifth was Mark Neibrugge with Citation; this pair was also the highest placing OBE team. Winning the non-pro division of the class was Kevin Williams with Unnamed. The Reserve Champion was Kim Anding with On Ez Street.

Chris Arentsen

Chris and “Big Lou” were also the highest placing Paint Horse team in the class. Chris has only had Lou in the barn for one week; he came home from the Breeders’ Halter Futurity in Iowa to prepare for classes here at the APHA World Show. At the BHF, his owner, Cheryl Vasi, led the APHA gelding to win the amateur division of his class. Lou is by I’m The Secret and out of Call Me Pretty and was bred by Justin Gooding.

“This is a good colt, and he’s great minded,” Chris says. “He put on weight since the BHF Futurity and bloomed. He’s balanced and very pretty. He’s made right and has a gorgeous topline. He showed like a million bucks today.”

Cheryl agrees, “He has the whole package, and it really flows together. There is really nothing you can ding him on, and he has some pretty extreme parts too.”

Chris and Lou received a check for $2,453 for their efforts today. Later in the show, Chris and Cheryl will compete with Lou in the APHA World Show classes. This beautiful, little colt is also being offered for your consideration.
