The American Junior Paint Horse Association is on the hunt for young leaders for the 2019 AjPHA Board of National Directors!

Do you know a youth who is passionate about Paint Horses? Do they always lend a hand at local horse shows? Are they the first to welcome new participants at club events? If this sounds like a youth you know, encourage them to apply to be a 2019 AjPHA National Director!

What is an AjPHA National Director?

  • These dedicated Youth are AjPHA’s hands-on representatives at the regional level.
  • They are passionate about Paints in whatever activities they participate in with their Paint horse—showing APHA, trail riding, open shows or just enjoying time spent with Paint Horses.
  • They help us spread the word about new and existing programs, contests, scholarships and other APHA/AjPHA news on the regional level.
  • They help brainstorm ideas about program changes, additions and updates for AjPHA, as well as write and bring forward rule changes for AjPHA.
  • AjPHA National Directors are also eligible to run for AjPHA Executive Committee positions.

That sounds AWESOME! So … how does someone get started?

Apply to be an AjPHA National Director! Youth must be a current AjPHA Member and age 17 or younger as of January 1, 2019, to apply. Interested Youth can apply through their regional club with the help of their club president or youth advisor (adult coordinator) OR they can submit an Individual Director Form. Each state, province or country has an allotted number of Youth able to serve their areas, based on the membership number from that location.

What do I need to do?

If you are a APHA/AjPHA Club President or Youth Advisor, complete the “Regional Club Nomination Form” and submit to AjPHA Director of Youth Activities, Christine Gillett by January 1.
