Several regional Paint Horse clubs were honored by the association at the annual APHA Convention February 22–24 in Irving, Texas. Winning clubs in the APHA/Gist Affiliate Rewards Program, as well as APHA’s President’s Club of Distinction and Gold Star Club award winners, were honored at the event.
New in 2013, APHA and Corporate Partner Gist—the official silversmith of APHA—partnered to create the Affiliate Rewards program. Regional clubs were invited to enter to win one of three gift certificates from Gist totaling $5,000; while the initial entry was free, clubs could earn additional entries based on award buckles purchased through Gist in 2013, and all clubs were eligible for money-saving volume discounts on their award purchases through Gist.
APHA/Gist Affiliate Rewards winners for 2013 were:
1st— Northeast Texas Paint Horse Club
$2,500 gift certificate
2nd— Paint Horse Club of Germany
$1,500 gift certificate
3rd— Tennessee Paint Horse Club
$1,000 gift certificate

A prestigious title, the President’s Club of Distinction is only awarded to Gold Star Clubs—those groups that excel in their dedication to members by hosting fundraisers, benefits, social gatherings, youth activities and special promotions while encouraging community service. Gold Star status must be justified every five years.

To earn the highly competitive President’s Club of Distinction, regional clubs must exemplify the qualities of a premier regional club—outstanding promotion and public service to Paint Horses and their supporters.
President’s Clubs of Distinction recipients for 2013 include:
– Florida Paint Horse Club
– Garden State Paint Horse Club
– Gulf Coast Paint Horse Club
– Virginia Paint Horse Club
– Washington State Paint Horse Club
2013 President’s Clubs of Distinction Honorable Mention recipients include:
– Arizona Paint Horse Club
– New Mexico Paint Horse Club
– Texas Paint Horse Club
The 2013 President’s Clubs of Distinction receive a $500 APHA General Store gift certificate, a $250 gift certificate from APHA Corporate Partner Gist Silversmiths and a certificate to the AjPHA Leadership Conference. Honorable Mention clubs receive a $250 gift certificate from Gist Silversmiths, a $200 gift certificate to the APHA General Store and a certificate to the AjPHA Leadership Conference.
