John and Linda Andreini endowed a scholarship fund in 2013 to be awarded to fully deserving American Quarter Horse Youth Association members. The generous scholarship donation is named for their daughter Adrianna, who has been involved with horses from a young age and is very passionate about showing and ranching.
“I want to give young people a chance to obtain a formal education as it is something I wish I would have done and it is a gap you just cannot fill,” said John. “I want this scholarship to support kids with the ambition to be successful.”
At the 2014 AQHA Convention in New Orleans, John Andreini donated an additional $50,000 to the fund during the Foundation luncheon. This additional donation will allow the number of scholarships awarded from this fund to increase sooner than anticipated.
“We truly appreciate the support of the Andreini family,” said Chris Sitz, senior director of the American Quarter Horse Foundation. “Their commitment to the future of the horse industry is illustrated through this scholarship fund as it will aid in developing leaders of tomorrow.”
The application deadline to all AQHYA members for the Andreini scholarship is December 1, 2014. The winning recipient will receive a $6,250 two-year scholarship.
The Andreini family owns J&L Ranch, a premier racing and race horse breeding farm in San Benito County, located in the north central coast of California, and Andreini & Co, one of the largest privately owned Insurance Brokers in the United States.
