Amateur Halter classes have just concluded this afternoon at the 2015 APHA World Championship Show. In the Amateur 2-Year-Old Stallions class, Laurie Roden led Financial Securitee to a win. The Reserve World Champion was Brooke Lynes with TD Amazing Kid. Third place was Becky Ratzlaff with Bronze Statute. Fourth place was Craig Dengate with Grandslam Kid. Fifth place was Patricia Borland with Cool Addiction.
In Amateur 3-Year-Old Geldings, Mrs. Judy Ford led Intriguing Clue to win the class. The Reserve Champion was Amanda Wallinger with A World Class Storm. Third place was Scott Scheutz with Bar Rescue. Fourth place was Rebecca Todd with LB Acowboy Casanova. Fifth place was Laurie Roden with Styled Right.
Judy has owned Intriguing Clue, aka”Huey Cluey,” for 14 months now. She purchased him from good friend and fellow competitor Jodi Finkenbinder. “He was an awesome animal at that time; he was two,” Judy says. “He’s right at 16.3 hands, so he’s a big boy, but he’s a big baby.”
Huey is by the stallion Kid Coolsified. Just yesterday, his little sister [Oh So Intriguing] was named the World Champion in Amateur Solid Paint Bred Weanling Fillies with owner Andrea Olsen at the lead. Judy confirms that Huey has many prior APHA and Pinto World and Reserve World titles, but this is the first he’s won with Judy at the lead. Next week, he will compete in Open competition with Terry Sartain.
