Aaron Moses and It’s A Pretty Thing Win Little Futurity Novice Western Pleasure Slot: View Complete Day 1 Results

The main event at The Little Futurity took place last night during the Southern Oaks $1,000 Novice Horse Western Pleasure Slot class. With $25,000 added money and a special inside purse of $1,000 for the highest placing horse that had not won $1,000 prior to the start of the Futurity, the slot class attracted 11 of the top novice Western Pleasure horses in the country.

Fresh off his win in The Equine Chronicle Novice Horse Western Pleasure at the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association Madness Show, Aaron Moses and It’s A Pretty Thing claimed the top spot once again; this time it was for owner Georgia Grace Medows. The pair received a check for $9,928 for the win.

Coming in Reserve was Jason English with Gone Viral for Debbie Tieman, winning $7,884. Third place was Bret Parrish with Pistol Packin Mann for Richard Baumann, winning $5,840. Fourth place was Casey Willis with KM Custom Made Best for Masterson Farms, LLC, winning $2,920. Fifth place was Shane Young with Sleepin In On Sunday for Taylor Leone, winning $2,628. This team also won an additional $3,360 and a Harris work saddle for being the highest placing horse that hadn’t won $1,000 prior to the start of the Futurity.

Sixth place was Jonathan Meilleur with Thepartysgettinghot for Dr. Ted Filandrianos. Seventh was Gil Galyean with No Doubt My Maria for Gil and Becky Galyean. Eighth place was Kenny Lakins with Lopin Southern Style for Mr. and Mrs. William Wilkes. Ninth place was Jeff Long with Moonlitesaturdaynite for Liz Long. Tenth place was Cleve Wells with Amblin Potential for Trudy Soechting. Eleventh place was Bobby Cooper with Runninouttamoonlight for Fritz Leeman.

Other big winners during Day 1 of the Futurity included Nick Mayabb with VS Code Me Lucky, who won both the Green Trail and Junior Trail. Dustin Millsap was named the champion with Paybackwithinterest in Senior Trail. Callie Adams rode Zippos Cash Award to win Non Pro Trail and a check for $1,181.25. The winner of the Novice Youth Western Pleasure was Blakely Abbott with Made Just Right. Samantha Aderhold rode Groovvygirl to win the Novice Horse Novice Rider Hunter Under Saddle.

Houston Huff and Always Seymore won the 3-Year-Old $2,500 Rider Open Western Pleasure. Katy Jo Zuidema and Al Wayz On Your Mind were the champions in Green Hunter Under Saddle. Richard Carr rode I Will Be A Good Rv to win the 50 and Over Non Pro Western Pleasure. Shannon Fisher and She Dresses To Win were the champions in the NC Resident Western Pleasure.
