The 2015 NSBA World Championship Show is winding down in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but there are still plenty of World Champions and BCF Futurity champions to be named.

Marilyn Masterson reprised her win from earlier this week by winning the Maturity Intermediate Non Pro Western Pleasure aboard Suddenly It’s Time. The 3-Year-Old Intermediate Open Western Pleasure was won by Adam Smith and Cool Huntin Lady for the Bilek Family Trust.

Darcy Reeve brought back her trusty gelding, A Certain Vino, to win the Maturity Non Pro Western Pleasure in fine fashion. Then, Rusty Green and For One Knight Only racked up yet another win in the Open 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure for Capital Quarter Horses, LLC. Randy Wilson was in the saddle of A Midnite Intuition to win the Open Color Maturity Western Pleasure.

Over in the Longe Line arena, Darlene Morawski and Withouta Doubt were named the champions in the Limited Non Pro Western Yearling Longe Line. Pete Mead and Batt Attitude were the World Champions in Non Pro Western Yearling Longe Line and also the winners of the BCF Non Pro Western Yearling Longe Line.

Plenty of Western Riding classes are on the schedule for today, including Junior and Senior Western Riding. First though, Brad Jewett, piloted the 8-year-old Palomino mare, Blazenmytroublesaway, to win the Color Open Western Riding for the Green family. Jewett had to hop on another horse to compete in the Junior Western Riding, so we chatted with Deanna Green to get the inside scoop on Buttercup.

“His logs were very good today,” Deanna says. “Also, his timing on his changes were really pretty, and it looked like Buttercup was trying to be very good. I think he definitely plussed his logs, and his stop and back was really pretty, which I liked.”

Deanna’s favorite part of any Western Riding pattern with Buttercup is the line, because the mare is able to maintain consistent speed while delivering changes with pinpoint accuracy. “She never really changes pace, and her head and neck stay exactly the same,” she says.

Later this evening, Jewett and Buttercup will return to the pen once more for the Senior Western Riding. After her last class, it’s time to head home to Texas where the Green Team will begin preparations for the All American Quarter Horse Congress and World Show.

Looking towards the future, Deanna is excited to see what’s in store for Buttercup’s four babies that are on the ground: three yearlings and a weanling.”She has two palominos, a buckskin, and a sorrel,” she says. “The sorrel weanling has a big white blaze and acts just like her. Her name is Bernice!”

Congratulations to this morning’s winners!
