First Spray-On Sunscreen For Horses Protects Against Burns and Coat Fading

Convenient application, highest protection, longest lasting and one of the least expensive to use

The brilliant scientists at Pharmaka have come up with another “must have” product for horses – the first, and perhaps the only, SPF 30 spray-on sunscreen for horses that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.

This gentle formula, free from harsh chemicals or pesticides, can be used near nostrils, ears and eyes because all ingredients are cosmetic grade and approved for use on humans. Not only does it protect sensitive skin from sunburn and damage but it provides significant protection against fading and bleaching of the horse’s coat.

The economical spray will do up to 30 large horses from head to tail, or, if used just for sensitive face, nostrils and ears, the spray bottle will last for approximately 120 applications. Can also be used on dogs and people too!

Some food for thought on UV protection against sunburn and coat fading:

• SPF 8 typically protects against burns for 1 hour, blocking 91% of UV rays, and is not recommended to protect against coat fading.
• SPF 15 typically protects against burns for 3 hours, blocking 93% of UV rays, and protects against coat fading for 4-5 hours in direct sunlight.
• SPF 30 typically protects against burns for 5 hours, blocking 97% of UV rays, and protects against coat fading for 8-10 hours in direct sunlight.
