The American Quarter Horse Youth Association Executive Committee is inviting the national officers of all equine associations for a one-day youth leadership summit in conjunction with the 2014 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar. The youth leadership summit starts at 8 a.m. on July 10 at the Best Western Premier Old Town Center in Bryan, Texas.

The youth leadership summit will include guest speakers, breakout sessions and much more.

“The animals we support may look different, have different gaits or come in a variety of sizes, but our issues as an entire horse industry are not so varied,” said Robin Alden, AQHA manager of youth development and AQHYA.

The youth leadership summit, the first-ever of its kind, will focus on public policy, animal health and community service topics that will ultimately benefit our beloved horse.

The AQHYA Executive Committee invites the national officers of all equine associations to attend the event. The national youth officers of the United States Dressage Federation, Interscholastic Equestrian Association, National Reined Cow Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association, Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc., National High School Rodeo Association, National Snaffle Bit Association, Stock Horse of Texas, World Conformation Horse Association and United States Pony Club, Inc. have confirmed their attendance. AQHYA is also looking forward to the National Reining Horse Association, Arabian Horse Association, National Cutting Horse Association and United States Team Penning Association to confirm their plans. All equine associations with youth involvement have been invited to participate in this event.

If you have any questions or would like your national officers to attend this event, contact Manager of AQHYA Robin Alden.

This year’s Youth Excellence Seminar is July 7-10 in College Station, Texas. YES welcomes AQHYA members, ages 10 to 18, to experience this three-day, fun-filled event that offers valuable leadership skills, inspiring speakers and tons of fun.
