After Midniite Cinches the $10K NSBA 3YO Open Western Pleasure at A Sudden Impulse
At World Equestrian Center – Ocala on Thursday, April 24, 2025, After Midniite cinched the top spot in the $10,000 NSBA 3YO Open & Limited Western Pleasure – and the $5000 Super Sires Breeders’ Purse -at A Sudden Impulse!
Cody Parrish showed the fine young bay three-year-old by Nothin But Nett and out of Its Showtime (by RL Best Of Sudden) for owner Courtney Stephens, taking home $2220. The pair also won the Super Sires Champion title, with another $2,500 earned, a $100 Stallion Bonus, and a $100 Nominator Bonus for Bret & Candy Parrish, who nominated “Rooster” for the program.
In fact, Parrish Quarter Horses raised Rooster, just as they had raised his sire, Nothin But Nett, as well as his mom, Its Showtime, so Cody says it has definitely been a very cool full circle experience.
“I showed him at Congress for the first time last year,” explains Cody Parrish. “We won the Two-Year-Old Limited Maiden Western Pleasure and his owner, Miss Courtney, has started showing him now, so we’re beginning his three-year-old career. He just keeps getting better and better, and the more mature he gets, the stronger he is, so he’s a lot of fun.”
Cody says Rooster also has a lot of ring presence. “He’s very pretty, and he catches your attention; he’s a very consistent horse, and that goes a long way in making a good show horse.”
As far as showing at WEC-Ocala, Cody says it best when he shares, “What a place to show. There’s not another facility like it; it’s a neat environment, a cool arena, and everything is better here.”
