During the last week of the 2024 All American Quarter Horse Congress, results of the big trail classes are highly anticipated, and the Four and Five Year Old Non-Pro Trail Stakes is no exception.
It’s even more exciting to watch a youth rider take top honors in a class of Non Pros, and Emma Grace Gore and KM Some Like It Best did exactly that on Saturday, a winning combination of grace and style.
When the final results were announced, Emma and “Monroe,” were crowned Congress Champions with a score of 237.50 and a payout of $3141.65.
The 2019 bay gelding by RL Best of Sudden and out of Always Invite Molly, bred by Masterson Farms LLC, is new to Emma, a horse she’d just acquired as of The Madness in May 2024. For Emma, the win brought happy tears. “I’m very happy because he’s a new horse and I haven’t had him very long, so I’m very happy that we won the class.”
Earlier in the show, “Monroe” had also earned a Fourth with Emma in Youth Performance Halter Geldings – a class of 44. Emma says she’s excited to continue her journey with him, since Trail was his only discipline when she bought him. “He’s really young and he’s been great to teach. He has a great personality, and I just love him. We’re currently doing Horsemanship, Equitation, and Trail, and we’re hoping to add Western Riding.”
Congratulations to this new team! See complete results below:
