Hez A Dancing Hubba wins Congress Maturity Open Hunter Under Saddle Stakes

One thread that’s always a constant in the horse industry remains teamwork – when exhibitors achieve success, they always credit working as a team for the final payoff.

Even for the pros, the magic of collaboration can bring about the best results, and it was definitely the case this weekend for the team of Hez A Dancin Hubba, with trainers Ryan Painter and Beth Case working together with owner Chris Lagerblade.

“Hank,” by Hubba Hubba Huntin and out of These Irons R Dancin, won the Congress Maturity Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle Stakes on Saturday, the last HUS futurity offered at the 2024 QH Congress, with Ryan Painter aboard.  Beth Case has had Hank since he was two, and Ryan has jumped him in the past, which he says has made him an even better rail horse.

His ride in the Maturity, Ryan says, was just perfect.  “He’s just easy to show and ride through the traffic – he’s simple, and it wasn’t scary with all the horses out there. It’s a nice class and he was just fun.”

Chris had earned a Fourth in Amateur Select Hunter Under Saddle a little earlier, and she jokes, “I feel like I got him ready for Ryan.  Beth got him ready for me, and I got him ready for Ryan.”
