I recently spent some time in our library glancing through the first issues of The Equine Chronicle from 1997. Besides noticing how much our magazine and the industry has changed over the years, I was smiling as I turned page after page and saw people who have been with us since the beginning. My how they have changed, too! I saw children, some in walk-trot, who are now young Amateur exhibitors. I saw young Amateur exhibitors who are now Select Amateur exhibitors. I saw some of my favorite professionals who are not with us anymore and remembered how much they are missed by us. It’s amazing how so much has changed, yet so much is still the same.

Whether it’s the simple love of horses, the need for a competitive outlet to help us release the tension of everyday life, the desire to form friendships with others who love horses, the desire to learn more about our equine friends, or myriad other reasons, we are joined together by a common interest–an interest that runs deep and lasts a lifetime.
