Paige Rogers and Ima Savvy Investment

Earlier in the week, Paige Rogers and Ima Savvy Investment won the CINCH Horsemanship Invitational at the NSBA World Championship Show, earning $3,000 with a $1,000 trainer bonus to Sara Simons.

Saturday, they topped a class of 63 to win the Amateur Western Horsemanship!  Paige says this is a class she’s worked really hard at for years, and it was all she did once she was done with her youth career, going to Georgia and riding for their equestrian team – it was her one event.

“I get in my head about it a little bit, because I just love it so much that I overthink it,” she confesses. “Every time I’ve gone into a really big class that mattered, I always have one little penalty, that has kept me from being successful, and finally today, it all came together. And it has been a long time coming, so it felt amazing.”

What made the difference at this show, she explains was the trust she now feels for her horse.  “We’ve been together about three years now, and he’s the most honest horse I’ve ever shown. It takes a lot of trust to go in and expect them to do exactly what you had in the warmup, so I would go in anticipating issues that he’s never given me, and I’m finally to the point where go in knowing he’s going to give me 100 percent, and he’s going to be the horse that I know he can be, so it really just took me trusting him to get here.”

Her mom, Beverley Bass, was there to cheer her on, just as she always is.  “She wouldn’t miss this for anything; she’s the best show mom and best supporter.”
