Gabrielle Lofton grew up riding and showing horses and did it well. In fact, in 2013 she won the intermediate division of the Trail Challenge at the 2013 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show.

After graduating from high school, the California native was unsure which path to follow- agriculture- or something new. After her final youth win, Gabrielle stepped away from the limelight in pursuit of “taking time to try out new things.”

“I grew up in a very agriculturally based world. So, I didn’t know what I wanted to study. My mom encouraged me to take the opportunity to learn new things, try different classes, and experience where and what I wanted to be. So, when I was in college in San Diego, I took oceanography classes and a ton of agricultural courses. I became a certified yoga instructor in 2013. I spent a lot of time on the beach. But, I still always had a pull toward agriculture. I remember my mom telling me that I could do both–be in the agriculture industry and be involved with yoga and healthy living.

My parents have always been supportive about raising their kids to do what they truly want to do. After a while, I decided I wanted to pursue a bachelor’s degree in agricultural leadership. So that’s why I transferred to Oklahoma State University. I also ended up teaching yoga on campus,” Gabrielle says.

Nowadays, Gabrielle describes herself as “pretty country.”
