2020 FL Gold Coast Recap- 13,500 AQHA Entries

An Equine Production show management has reported a banner year for the 2020 Florida Gold Coast that recently concluded in Tampa, Florida. With stalls at a count of 1,200, entries up 600 per judge, and a total of 13,500 AQHA entries with an increase of more than 3,500 AQHA entries over 2019, that’s a clear indication that competitors are enjoying the balmy, Floridian, winter weather.
The show took place at the beautiful, outdoor Bob Thomas Equestrian Center December 27-31 with a judges pool including: Mike Weaver, Tonya Brown, Andrea Simons, Jeff Greaves, Sandy Jirkovsky, Carla Wennberg, Shawn Hays, Sissy Anderson, Kristy Starnes, Clint Fullerton, Ryan Kail, Kendra Weis, Randy Wilson, Christa Baldwin, and Kathy Bogetta.
One of AQHA’s Top 20 shows year after year, the Gold Coast offered popular leveled classes, new AQHA Ranch Trail, Hunter classes daily, and its share of $50,000 that is to be awarded at both the Gold and upcoming Gulf Coast circuits.
Check out the High Point winners at the show! The Junior High Point winner was Struttin To The Blues for Rodger Call. Reserve was Extremely Salty for Ruth Rowe. Third was Sugaray for Kathy Huspeni. The Senior winner was Whose Your Bay Bae for Kelly Birkenholtz. Reserve was Check Required for Cynthia Figueroa. Third was I Am The Party for Dr Ted Filandrianos. The Level 1/Green winner was Best Man Standing for Christina Sakalas. Reserve was Strutin to the Blues for Rodger Call. Third was Dont Think Twice for Meaghan Depalma.
The Level 1 (Novice) Amateur winner was Moneys Moxie Girl and Ashley Nietzer. Reserve was He Best Be Good and Katie Whalen. Third was T Bo and Avery Lefils. The Amateur champion was Version Of Goodbar and Sarah Lebsock. Reserve was Truly Graceful and Amy Hassinger. Third was Bettin Im Best and Vito Latini. The Select winner was Strawberri Wine and Laina Banks. Reserve was Suddenlee Single and Joe Whitt. Third was Only One Request and Scott Reinartz.
The Level 1 (Novice) Youth winner was Emma DeJong with Just Call Me Lazy. Reserve was Megan Miller with And Then They Dance. Third was Haley Cunningham with No Longer Captive. The Youth 13 & Under winner was Just Call Me Lazy and Emma Dejong. Reserve was Roses Only and Isabella Buckley. Third was KM Genuinely Best and Emma Gore. The Youth 14-18 winner was Check Required and Rebecca Figueroa. Reserve was Just A Touch More and Avery Mortman. Third was Huntin A Hot Cowgirl and Alexa Black.
The Small Fry winner was Chillin Ona Dirt Road and Lilly Jones. Reserve was Dangerously Famous and Alyvia Kladny. Third was Famous N Foolish and Georgia Cook. The Level 1 Amateur W/J winner was Suddenly Goodtherapy and Laurie Stewart. Reserve was Laidback N Lazy and Nicole Williams. Third was Sweet And Semi Lazy and Morra Nevells. The Level 1 Youth W/J winner was Dangerously Famous and Alyvia Kladny. Reserve was Shiftys Illusion and John Shehee. Third was Beau Patrick and Annabel Steffens.
The VRH Open winner was A Busy Affair for Steve and Kathy Headley. Reserve was Fancy Blue Roo for Quincy Clagg. Third was Juiced In Hollywood for Loretta Mcclintock. The VRH Amateur winner was See The Magic In Me for Kenneth Banks. Reserve was Spot On My Jersey for Karen Johnson. Third was KR Rufin It and Kaylynn Debernard. The VRH Youth winner was MSW Flashed N Chock and Sydney Sargent. Reserve was Widow Gallo and Trent Ferreir. Third was Doya Think Im Flashy and Cole Gouthro.
