2019 Breeders Halter Futurity is a Wrap!

The 2019 Breeders Halter Futurity recently took place September 11-15 in Des Moines, Iowa crowning numerous champions and awarding huge checks and those coveted giant golden globes. Judges for the show were Matt Howell, Jodi Finkenbinder, Steve Heckaman, Chip Knost, John Lawrence, Tommy Manion, Buddy Talbert, and Bruce Walquist.

Winning a 14-entry Junior Weanling Colt class was Heather Olson with Ohindeed. The Reserve Champion was Joy Stehney with Empowered. These were also the Non-Pro Champions. The winner of a 28-entry Senior Weanling Colts was Joy Stehney with Raylan Givens. The Reserve Champion was Jason Smith with Chasin Big Dreams. The Non-Pro Champion was Joy Stehney with Raylan Givens and the Reserve Champion was Scott Johnson with Secret Acquisition.

In Weanling Geldings, Suzonne Franks led TNR Walkinginmemphis to win both the Open and Non-Pro divisions. The Reserve Open Champion was Matthew Cooper with FG Defender. The Reserve Non Pro Champion was Kathy Johns with Gotta Love Luke. The winner of Color Weanling Colts and Geldings was Buddy Laney with FG Hypnotizing. Reserve was Kevin Hardcastle with Starzz. Buddy Laney also won Color Yearling Stallions with FG Commander N Chief. Reserve was Chris Arentsen with Boots N Bourbon.

Dillon Groff led Evenger to win Yearling Geldings. Reserve was Dewey Smith with Premos Secret. The winner of Yearling Stallions was Tom Robertson with Swole. Reserve was Jeffrey Pait with Ima Perfect Bet. Jarrell Jackson led TB Predator to win Color Yearling Geldings. Reserve was Gretchen Jackson with Lego My Ego. Monte Horn led The Final Verse to win 2-Year-Old Stallions. Reserve was Luke Castle with CR Peacemaker. Two-Year-Old Geldings was won by Shirley McCary with Cool In My Levis. Reserve was Ted Turner with Hez One Cool Dude.

Anita Wiescamp led TNR Mr Coolsified to win 3-Year-Old and Older Stallions. Reserve was Jarrell Jackson with FG Rare Vintage. Three-Year-Old and Older Geldings was won by Jerm Christensen with Hez Kid Cool.

Winning Junior Weanling Fillies was Patricia Breitberg with DLA Intentional. Reserve was Elizabeth Thompson with Goodness Graceous. Tim Finkenbinder and FF Flirtatious won Color Open Weanling Fillies. Reserve was Joy Stehney with Sasseta. Joy Stehney led The Last Jewell to win Yearling Mares. Reserve was Tom Robertson with Stellas Finest Rose. Ross Roark led Sashay My Way to win 2-Year-Old Mares. Reserve was Buddy Laney with FG Mesmerized.

3-Year-Old and Older Mares was won by Ronald Doyle with Very Exotic. Reserve was Monte Horn with Cool Litl Doll. Color Open Yearling Mares was won by Annie Schobel with Shez Stylistic Too. Reserve was Cara McMillian-Gibson with Wanna Talk About Me.

Amateur Junior Weanling Colts was won by Steven Wallinger with Cool Cool. Reserve was Heather Olson with Ohindeed.  Amateur Junior Weanling Fillies was won by Patricia Breitberg with DLA Intentional. Reserve was Elizabeth Thompson with Goodness Graceous. Amateur Senior Weanling Colts was won by Joy Stehney with Raylan Givens. Reserve was Scott Johnson with Secret Acquisition. Amateur 3 and Older Mares was won by Camren Madden with Gotta Lot Of Secrets. Reserve was Kathy Sheahan with Tellana.

Amateur Three-Year-Old and Older Stallions was won by Angie Schmeck with Ironnic. Reserve was Anita Wiescamp with TNR Mr Coolsified. Amateur 2-Year-Old Stallions was won by March Ferguson with Watchmaker. Reserve was Marcie Budine with Heza Dark Agent. Amateur 2-Year-old Mares was won by Theodore Lincoln with Gurl Krush. Reserve was Gilbert Arevalo with Delightness.

Amateur 2-Year-Old Stallions was won by Peggy Migliori. Reserve was Chad Hill with Tuff Gunslinger. Amateur Weanling Geldings was won by Matthew Cooper with FG Defender. Reserve was Kaleena Weakly with Hez Sorry Not Sorry. Amateur Yearling Geldings was won by Laura Sandstrom with Rileys Agent. Reserve was Christopher Carroll with So So Secretive. Amateur Yearling Mares was won by Joy Stehney with The Last Jewell. Reserve was Adam Matthews with Sinnsational.

Amateur Yearling Stallions was won by Mark Williams with Once Upon A Time. Reserve was Long Smallwood with Xtravagance. Color Amateur Weanling Colts and Geldings was won by Andrea Olson with Intriguing Secret. Reserve was Rebekah Herrman with Retro Ego. Color Amateur Weanling Fillies was won by Dr. Shelley Dawn Grissom with E Intentions. Reserve was Adam Matthews with FG Truly Egotistical.

Color Amateur Yearling Geldings was won by Debra Instone with Stylin My Heart. Reserve was Gretchen Jackson with Lego My Ego. Color Amateur Yearling Mares was won by Cara McMillian-Gibson with Wanna Talk About Me. DIY Amateur Weanling Colts and Geldings was won by Linda Hall with Intentionality. Reserve was Rose Fritz with Hes So This. DIY Amateur Weanling Fillies was won by Patricia Breitberg with DLA Intentional. Reserve was Stephanie Sickafoose with Cool Lookin Ruthie.

Winning Amateur Senior Weanling Mares was Scott Trahan with Shezz To Kool. Reserve was Amy Jo Erhardt with Classiest. The winner of Open Senior Weanling Fillies was Ross Roark with FG Empress. Reserve was Scott Trahan with Shezz To Kool. Scott was also the winner of the Non-Pro division. Reserve was Heather Olson with Natural Ikon.

Youth Geldings was won by Claire Carroll with So So Secretive. Reserve was Katie Houser with Kid Ikon. Winning Youth Mares was Camren Madden with Gotta Lot Of Secrets. Reserve was Nathan Wright with TNR All Eyes On Me.

The Grand Champion Open Stallion was Monte Horn with The Final Verse. The Reserve Champion was Joy Stehney with Raylan Givens. The Grand Champion Open Gelding was Shirley McCary with Cool In My Levis. Reserve was Dillon Groff with Evenger. The Grand Champion Open Mare was Sashay My Way, led by Ross Roark. Reserve was Joy Stehney with The Last Jewell.

The Grand Champion Amateur Mare was Theodore Lincoln with Gurl Krush. Reserve was Joy Stehney with The Last Jewell. The Grand Champion Amateur Gelding was March Ferguson with The Watchmaker. Reserve was Matthew Cooper with FG Defender.
