EC Photo of the Day- Lending a Helping Hand

Today’s EC Photo of the Day comes courtesy of the Massachusetts State Police, who snapped this shot of State Trooper, John Areche, helping stranded horse owners change a flat tire on their horse trailer.

According to the MSP, Areche is a recent graduate of the 84th Recruit Training Troop, who is currently assigned to the State Police Lee Barracks. With temperatures reaching over 90 degrees yesterday, and a horse inside the trailer, Areche jumped into action to help. He didn’t want the horse to get heat exhaustion while having to wait for assistance, or have it graze alongside the trailer, because the flat occurred on the side of I-90, the busy Massachusetts Turnpike. So, he changed the tire himself!
