Coach’s Thoughts

“Overall, a really solid day. We still have some areas we can tighten up, but that is to be expected this early in the year. We know what we can work on between now and next week when we host Texas A&M. We had some really strong rides today from our upperclassmen and freshmen alike. This was Izzy’s first collegiate meet, so it was very special to see her double MOP. Hopefully it is the start of a really bright career. We know Texas A&M is a very strong team, but we are excited about the opportunity to continue to build on the foundation we laid this week.”

Notes

  • Three freshmen Horned Frogs took home MOP honors in their collegiate debut.
  • TCU improves to 11-0 against Delaware State.
  • Henningsen posted her second highest career score of 82
  • TCU scored over 80 in all five Flat rides.

Head coach Casie Maxwell
On the weekend…

“It was definitely was a marathon. We knew it was going to be a long weekend, especially with a rain delay. You just deal with the things you can control. We tell our team that all the time with their rides. I think they did a great job coming together. If anything was going to test them it was going to be this in terms of their work ethic and stamina. They just really pushed through and had great endurance and positive energy and kept cheering to the very last ride. I think we were at our loudest moment in the last ride in the arena, and we had been here for 14 hours. It was an outstanding weekend. To start 3-0 and have 12 MOPs, we have a lot of confidence going on the road against Oklahoma State. This is a great confidence builder.”

WHAT’S NEXT

The Bears take a break from action before opening Big 12 action on the road against Oklahoma State Saturday, Oct. 13 in Stillwater, Okla.
