NCEA Announces March Riders of the Month- Brayman, Darst, Huff, and Stroud

WACO, Texas — The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced its March Riders of the Month on Wednesday, April 11^th.

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls earned two NCEA monthly honors for March. Freshman Abigail Brayman earned Equifit Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Month after posting a 4-0 record in March and grabbing the Most Outstanding Performer award in the Big 12 Championships. Harley Huff earned Shorty’s Horsemanship Rider of the Month, the second Freshman for the Cowgirls this month. Huff went 4-0 in March, earned two MOP awards, and was Most Outstanding Performer at the Big 12 Championships.

The Georgia Bulldogs brought in two riders with monthly honors for March. Sophomore Maddy Darst earned Equifit Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month following her MOP performance in the final round of the SEC Championship. She earned scores of 84 or above in four meets. Junior Graysen Stroud grabbed Shorty’s Reining Rider of the Month after earning MOP honors in the championship round of the SEC Championship and placed on the SEC All-Championship Team.

Equifit Equitation On the Flat Rider of the Month: Abigail Brayman, Oklahoma State

• Went 4-0 in the month of March, including the Big 12 Championships
• In the Big 12 Championships, she averaged a score of 87.75 in Flat
• She was the recipient of the Most Outstanding Performer of the entire weekend

Equifit Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month: Maddy Darst, Georgia

• Earned MOP honors in the final round of the SEC Championship
• Defeated opponents by an average of 7.25 points
• Earned four scores of 84 or above in four meets
• Ended the season on a nine-meet win streak

Shorty’s Horsemanship Rider of the Month: Harley Huff, Oklahoma State

• Won all four of her meets in the month of March
• Earned two MOP honors in the regular season against WTAMU and Baylor
• At the Big 12 Championships, she averaged a score of 76.25
• Earned MOP honors for the entire weekend for her performance at the Big 12 Championships

Shorty’s Reining Rider of the Month: Graysen Stroud, Georgia

• Earned All-Championship Team honors
• Named MOP in the championship round against Auburn at the SEC Championship
• Defeated conference opponent on the road and in the anchor position
