Our sincerest condolences go out to Bell Crisp following the sudden loss of her beloved, APHA, PtHA, gelding, Sheiks Winning Colors. Known around the Paint Horse pen as “Jethro,” this 2003 tobiano was by the late stallion, Zippos Sheik, and out of Scooter Pie Becky. Sadly, Jethro was euthanized October 7th due to complications from laminitis.
“Jethro will be remembered as one of the most honest horses to step into the arena,” Bell says. “He never failed to take care of whichever rider was lucky enough to grace his back.”
Bell fondly remembers, not only his steady disposition and consistent performances in the show pen, but also his sweet personality. “His demeanor – without fail- was always happy,” she says. “He was loved by many, but I will miss him the most.”
Among Jethro’s many accolades, one of his most recent big wins was a Reserve World Championship finish at the 2016 APHA World Show in Masters Western Riding.
