Pinto Announces New “Long Ear” Division

Bethany, Okla.,– The Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc., is pleased to announce the new Long Ear division which will establish and maintain a system to manage the Mule and Donkey affiliate (MDA) known as the long ear division of the Pinto Association. This will include a miniature division.

The Association services will include recording and tracking Membership Data, Mule and Donkey Registration Records, Competition Approvals in addition to all records of Halter and Performance awards relating to each registered Mule or Donkey in the long ear division.
Mule and Donkey types that can be registered in the Long Ear division through the PtHA® include: Miniature Donkey, B Miniature Donkey, Small Standard Donkey, Standard Donkey, Large Standard Donkey, Mammoth Jackstock, Miniature Mule / Hinny, B-Miniature Mule / Hinny, Saddle Mule / Hinny and Draft Mule / Hinny.
Breeding and bloodline records are established using approved documents including outcross registration records, breeding certificates, Stallion (Jack) annual breeding reports and mare exposure reports.
Individual Show and Performance records are posted in the Pinto Register of Merit data base allowing each registered Mule or Donkey advancement in pursuit of established awards and recognition.  The Register of Merit program has provisions to record On the Trail hours and Open Show competition point records.
Class titles and Class regulation rules are in effect and are consistent with accepted equine competition guidelines.

The Pinto Association® will furnish current rule book guidance to the long ear division participants.  Pinto Affiliate rules that govern the long ear division will always be in effect and will resolve all questions.

Registration within the Long Ear division will begin November 1, 2017. Registrations for yearlings and older will cost $70 until July 1, 2018, weanlings at regular cost. Show approvals and point recordings will begin January 1, 2018. Please visit, www.pinto.org to learn more about the Long Ear division.
