CydneyBenesFORT WORTH, Texas – TCU Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield has announced the addition of Cydney Benes to the roster.

A Boca Raton, Fla. native, Benes joins the Horned Frog squad after completing her freshman season at Auburn.

“I’m really looking forward to this next season with my girls!” said Western head coach Melissa Dukes. “I feel I have some real strength in both the Reining and the Horsemanship teams this year and am excited to add Cydney to the mix. I feel she will be a true asset to our team!”

Benes competed in two meets at Auburn, winning her point in Horsemanship against Ole Miss. She also competed against then-ranked No. 4 Georgia, scoring the highest point of her young career with a 76.5-point ride. She also rode in exhibition against Texas A&M and South Carolina.

Before competing collegiately, Benes was twice crowned Quarter Congress Champion, had numerous top-five and top-10 finishes at the AQHYA World Championship show, placed top-five and top-10 multiple times at the All American Quarter Horse Congress and was the 2013 NSBA Year End High Point Open Hunter Under Saddle Champion.

She plans on studying business at TCU.
