ranch-the-new-comancheThe Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation is excited to announce the addition of a special display that includes artifact presentation and promotion of the color breeds history at the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, Okla. Visitors to the Will Rogers Memorial will get a first hand look at the Palomino horse, the history of the organization, prominent display of the first registered horse and a custom parade saddle made for the Bicentennial celebration in 1976 (1776-1976 Bicentennial Celebration).

Visitors to the Memorial already know Will Rogers and his affection for “Comanche,” his golden Palomino, and this display is directed to exemplify his horse-human connection with the Palomino horse. The display will be available with information about the Heritage Foundation and the Palomino Horse Breeders of America until mid-November, not only to promote the Palomino horse, but also to promote the Heritage Foundation’s invitation to be the Grand Marshal at this Year’s Will Rogers Days Parade on November 6 in Claremore, Okla.

“The Will Rogers Days Parade can’t come at a better time for the work this Heritage Foundation has done with the Color Breeds Congress in Tulsa, Okla., November 7-13, happening the following week at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds,” said PHBHF President, Alda Buresh. “Not only will our Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation be represented as Grand Marshals commemorating Will Rogers, we also hope to revive that horse-human relationship for future generations. In addition, the horse ridden at the Parade will be available at the Color Breeds Congress for photo opportunities,” added Buresh.

memorial-exhibitIn addition to the special exhibit and passionate involvement of Palomino supporters, a Golden Palomino was presented to the Will Rogers Birthplace on September 15 provided by Dr. Floyd and Lynn Branson on behalf of the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation. The Branson’s are life members of the Palomino Horse Breeders of America.

“Will Rogers was a prominent individual who I grew up watching, listening to, and was an individual I’ve always had immense respect for throughout my life. If you add Comanche and his love of Palomino horses on top of that, it was obvious that one of our beloved Zippo Pine Bar horses should spend the rest of his days in Oologah at Will Rogers Birthplace to commemorate Comanche. It is not for me, but for the next generation to fall in love with Will’s passion for horses, specifically the Palomino horse,” says donor Dr. Floyd Branson.

Palomino enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the newly designed palominoheritage.com, contact the Palomino Horse Breeders of America national headquarters or visit with their local breed association to learn more about how to include a Palomino Horse in their home. Palomino horses have a place for all horse lovers; and the Foundation constantly says the only thing missing is you.

The Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation is dedicated to preserving the past, present and future of the Palomino Horse and to those who have dedicated themselves to maintaining and perpetuating the breed. The foundation was created as a way for individuals to make contributions that are meaningful and make a positive impact on the Palomino Horse, their owners and to those who made significant sacrifices to preserve the Palomino legacy. All contributions are tax deductible through a 501(c)(3) entity.
