35th Anniversary of Tom Powers Futurity Pays Out $264,673, Sets New Record With Yearling Sale

tom powers2The 2015 Tom Powers Futurity recently took place June 25-28 in Berrien Springs, Michigan and set several new records to mark their 35th anniversary.

“We experienced 4% growth overall from 2014,” Dominique Powers says. “Our Stakes Sale class on Saturday was the largest ever. It paid back $60,000 to 25 exhibitors. Competitors began their class with a glass of champagne to celebrate the 35th anniversary of The Triple Challenge Futurity, which was provided by the National Snaffle Bit Association.”

“Our Yearling Stakes Sale average was up over $2,000. We sold almost $1 million worth of yearlings for a new record.”

 The largest payouts were seen in the following classes:

  • 3-Year-Old $2,500 Limited Horse Western Pleasure- $12,975
  • 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure- $13,894
  • Maiden 2-Year-Old Open Limited Sale Stakes Western Pleasure- $15,000
  • 3-Year-Old Limited Rider Western Pleasure- $15,175
  • Maiden 2-Year-Old Open Sale Stakes Western Pleasure- $45,000
