Leading Breeder Award Added to 2022 APHA World Show and Halter Million Prize Lists

The Leading Breeder Award will be presented to the breeder whose horses earn the most points based on Top 10 placings in all world championship classes at the 2022 APHA World Championship (June 24-July 10) and the APHA/WCHA Halter Million (September 24-October 2); both events take place at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Awards will be compiled separately at each event.

In every one of the Scottsdale Arizona Sun Circuit’s 11 arenas, it was evident that there were more horses, more exhibitors, and more family and friends. The final numbers showed 2,500 stalls reserved, which was 300 more than last year’s record-breaking event.

10 New APHA Rules Go into Effect April 1st

Ten rule changes passed at the 2022 APHA Convention in February with early implementation go into effect April 1, 2022. The full text for each rule can be found in the Rule Change Resolutions link on the APHA website, apha.com/rule-books, which also includes the list of all rules passed at the 2022 Convention; the updated 2022 APHA Rule Book reflecting the early implementation rules will be posted by April 1.

The American Quarter Horse Youth Association is excited to have Courtenay DeHoff as the 2022 AQHYA Youth Excellence Seminar keynote speaker. The 2022 Youth Excellence Seminar is slated for July 12 – 14 in Amarillo. Courtenay, the cowgirl turned TV host, grew up in Tonganoxie, Kansas, showing Angus cattle and competing in rodeo events.
